We are lucky to be located in an area of England that boasts a stunning variety of places of interest, landmarks and towns to visit with a wealth of beauty and history to be explored. There are also quite a few fascinating gardens, buildings and grounds owned by The National Trust.
Sports people won’t be disappointed, the surrounding area is awash with country pursuits including polo, hunting, eventing and Point to Point as well as shooting, stalking and fishing. Adventurers will be in their element. We’re on the official Wiltshire cycle route and offer a popular re-fuelling spot for ramblers and cyclists. For those who like a flutter, we’re conveniently placed for visits to Bath, Newbury and Chepstow Race courses and motor racing at Castle Combe.
If you’d prefer to relax rather than race or ramble, we have numerous well-renowned golf courses nearby at Bowood, Castle Combe, Michinhampton and The Players to mention just a few. The beautiful town of Bath Spa is less than half an hour away by car and you’ll find some complete gems in the independent shops in Malmesbury and Tetbury – also home to the famous Highgrove shop. We’re a bit spoilt really!
After something a bit more unusual? Take a look around the 12th Century Malmesbury Abbey and Abbey gardens, less than 10 minutes away and made infamous for its naked gardeners! Plus we’re just down the road from the world famous Westonbirt Arboretum, Beaufort Polo Club and the estates of Badminton and Gatcombe.
We like to keep things interesting and regularly host annual vintage, veteran and car club rally meetings, shooting lunches and cater for sporting events. We’ve even been known to organise trips to support Bath Rugby Club when they play at home.
